Huron Hospice | Marilyn Elgie

This month we launch the first of six videos in which stories are told of people’s lives being impacted by Huron Hospice.  They speak to the need for the residence to be expanded so that more lives can be touched.  These videos are a legacy from a friend of Huron Hospice.

We were introduced to Jan Hawley, the Economic Development Officer for Huron East, early this year.  From knowing almost nothing about Huron Hospice, within weeks, she became a strong advocate and set in motion funding from Community Futures Huron so that we could contract Dr Chris Cooper to produce these videos. A few weeks later, on March 16, she died suddenly.  The obituary the next day invited family and friends to make donations in her memory to Huron Hospice.

At the beginning of each month, a new video will be released.  This month we hear Marilyn Elgie tell her family’s story when her husband, Paul, was at the residence.
